Please be sure to send your child to school with appropriate cold weather gear. Students will be going outside unless conditions are extreme, such as frostbite warnings, blizzards, high winds/windchill, etc. Students can come to the office to borrow winter clothing. Another thing to remember is that school remains open on days when school transportation has been cancelled. If you are not sure, please look for an Ottawa School Transportation Authority (OSTA) announcement by 6:15am and then make plans to bring your child to school for 9:15am and pick up at 3:45pm. You can sign up for OSTA transportation alerts at ottawaschoolbus.ca.

Wow! It’s basically December already! We have a special month ahead filled with many learning opportunities and fun, memorable experiences. It was great to hear that many families were able to connect with Carson Grove educators over the past week to celebrate student successes and plan for next steps. If you have not yet had the opportunity to speak with your child’s educators and would like to connect, please feel free to reach out at any time. We’re here to work with you as a team!

End of fall / beginning of winter weather is here! Please be sure that your child comes to school ready to play outdoors. The school does have some winter clothes for students to use. Please have your child come to the office if they ever need outdoor clothing. Indoor shoes are still also very important at this time of the year to help keep the school clean!

It was really nice to see families out for our Remembrance Day ceremony on Friday, November 11th. Students and staff did a great job with the presentations. Thank you to Ms. Hanna for her work as the lead organizer.

Week of November 7th News Update Last week was another amazing week at Carson Grove. Students had a great time with Halloween and Black and Orange Spirit Day. The very warm weather was also really nice for recess and outdoor learning time. Classes are enjoying the extra long use of the play structure before it will eventually close for the winter months.

We had a wonderful week at Carson Grove. The falling leaves continue to offer new opportunities for learning and play on the school yard. It was also really great to see the grade 3 garden project with our partner, Growing Up Organic, come to life. Ms. Tompkins, Mr. McLaurin, and Ms. Hobouti’s classes helped to build three garden boxes at the front of the school. Click "Read More" to continue reading......
