Carson Grove ES News Update - Week of June 17th

Incredibly, there are only 9 school days left before the summer holidays.  Staff members are working on end of year plans, including some fun, memorable activities for students, progress reporting, and help with transitions for students who are moving to other schools.

Please contact the office if you are moving this summer.  We can help guide you with any changes in schools.

We had a week to remember with a kindergarten read aloud session, the Titan grade 5 sports day, and the regional track & field meet.  The lockdown practice went well and our second fire drill went smoothly.  We would also like to thank Khalsa Aid Canada for the donation of pizza on Friday.  All students and staff received two slices of pizza!

Eid al-Adha

For all families who are celebrating Eid al-Adha this week, we wish you and your family, peace, harmony, happiness, good health and prosperity.  Eid al-Adha Mubarak to you and everyone at home!

National Indigenous Peoples Day - June 21st

Friday is National Indigenous Peoples Day.  This is a day that celebrates and recognizes First Nations, Métis, and Inuit cultures.  It is observed on the 21st of June to recognize the summer solstice, the day of maximum daylight, and its importance to Indigenous Peoples.

It’s a day for all Canadians to recognize, celebrate, and support the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.

Accessing June Report Cards

Report cards will be sent out to families via email later in the day on Wednesday, June 26th.  To access the report card, enter your child’s Ontario Education Number (OEN) in this format: XXX-XXX-XXX (remember to enter the hyphens - ).  Please look at the November progress report or February report card to see your child’s OEN.  We will also be sending home a reminder of your child’s OEN this week on a yellow piece of paper.  If you have additional questions, visit the OCDSB report card webpage or contact the school office.

Carson Grove ES Grade 5 Leaving Ceremony on June 24th

We hope to see you there!

2024-25 School Year Plan of Care for Students with Medical Conditions

The OCDSB has implemented an easier, secure method to complete paperwork for your child's medical condition(s). The Plan of Care form is now available online and does not require a physical copy or physician signature.

PLAN OF CARE FOR STUDENTS WITH MEDICAL CONDITIONS

Please complete all required fields and click SUBMIT.  Any medications for the above medical conditions can be dropped off to the office in September.

If you would prefer a paper copy, please contact the office.

Joke or Riddle of the Day!

A “Joke or Riddle of the Day'' is featured daily on the morning announcements.  There are two ways to share a possible joke/riddle of the day: Students will be able to pass along jokes/riddles at school in class using a Chromebook; or, they can suggest one with help from home by clicking here and completing a quick Google Form.  Based on the overwhelming response levels in the past, not all jokes/riddles are used during the announcements.  We do our best to find ones that match the time of the year and also try to make selections from a variety of classes.
