Carson Grove ES News - Week of June 3rd

It was another amazing week at Carson Grove.  The beautiful weather allowed students and staff to spend some additional time outdoors.  Our older classes had the opportunity to learn about the game of lacrosse this week with a visiting lacrosse instructor.  Grade 5 students also had the opportunity to visit Henry Munro MS to prepare for their transition to grade 6 this September.  It was also fun to see what students and staff chose to wear on Friday’s spirit day!

PA Day on Friday, June 7th (No School for Students)

Friday, June 7th is a PA Day for writing report cards.  There will be no school for students.  Report cards will be sent to families as a password-protected email attachment during the last week of the month.  More details on how to access the reports will be coming soon.

Spring Fire Drills (No Bells) and Lockdown Practice

We will be having our three spring fire drill practices and second lockdown practice of the year.  Staff members will be reviewing the steps with students before the drills.  Out of respect for the recent experiences of some of our students within the community, the fire drills will happen without the use of bells.

Welcome to Kindergarten Session for New Students in September 2024 on June 13th

Will your child be attending kindergarten for the first time this September?  If so, you are invited to bring them to school on Thursday, June 13th from 2:30 to 3:15pm.  You and your child will get to be part of a kindergarten class with outdoor learning time, carpet learning time, and centre learning time led by members of the Carson Grove kindergarten team.  It’s a great chance for your child to see what it’s like to be in kindergarten.  Click here to view the poster.  Please  email or call the school office at (613) 745-0195 (press 0) to let us know that you will be coming.

Joke or Riddle of the Day!

A “Joke or Riddle of the Day'' is featured daily on the morning announcements.  There are two ways to share a possible joke/riddle of the day: Students will be able to pass along jokes/riddles at school in class using a Chromebook; or, they can suggest one with help from home by clicking here and completing a quick Google Form.  Based on the overwhelming response levels in the past, not all jokes/riddles are used during the announcements.  We do our best to find ones that match the time of the year and also try to make selections from a variety of classes.
