Carson Grove ES News Update - March Break & Week of March 18th
We had a wonderful week at Carson Grove. It was nice to be outside with such lovely weather. Students really enjoyed using recess equipment and playing with their friends in the sun. Please remember to send students to school with the right clothing and footwear for the season. Splash pants and rubber boots are a good idea at this time of the year. Please let the office know if you need any help with spring clothing.
March Break
The March Break school holiday is this coming week. All OCDSB schools will be closed to students from March 11th to 15th. Have a safe and restful March Break with family and friends!
New “SafeArrival” Attendance System - Starting on Tuesday, March 19th
Starting on Tuesday, March 19th, Carson Grove and a number of other schools will be switching to a new way to report student absences. When your child is absent, please no longer call the school directly. Instead, please use SafeArrival - SchoolMessenger toll free phone number (1-833-202-1417), SchoolMessenger website, or SchoolMessenger app (Apple’s App Store, Google’s Play Store, SchoolMessenger web portal) - to report an absence.

Student Accommodations During Ramadan
We wish Ramadan Mubarak to students and families marking Ramadan this month. The OCDSB is committed to building learning and working spaces where everyone feels they belong. We would like to remind all families of your right to request from your child’s teacher or principal, any accommodations your child may require to support prayer, fasting or observance of religious days of significance throughout the school year. 2024-25 OCDSB School Calendar
Last week the Board of Trustees approved elementary and secondary calendars for the 2024-2025 school year. The Ministry has now approved these calendars. Learn more on the OCDSB website.
Joke or Riddle of the Day!
A “Joke or Riddle of the Day'' is featured daily on the morning announcements. There are two ways to share a possible joke/riddle of the day: Students will be able to pass along jokes/riddles at school in class using a Chromebook; or, they can suggest one with help from home by clicking here and completing a quick Google Form. Based on the overwhelming response levels in the past, not all jokes/riddles are used during the announcements. We do our best to find ones that match the time of the year and also try to make selections from a variety of classes.
