Islamic Heritage Month

Every year in October, Islamic Heritage Month is recognized in Canada. This is a time to learn together about Islamic excellence and the rich, longstanding contributions Muslim people have made to literature, math, science, art and history. We must also reflect on our shared responsibility to identify, challenge and eradicate Islamophobia and anti-Muslim discrimination and hate.

Indigenous Student Tutoring Program at Carson Grove

We are excited to share an opportunity for students who identify as First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students at Carson Grove. In partnership with the OCDSB Indigenous Education Team and Continuing Education, we are gauging family interest in a free after-school tutoring program to support literacy and numeracy.

If there is enough interest, we will be offering two one-hour tutoring sessions each week right after school and one parent session each month to support families in continuing the learning at home. The tutor will collaborate with your child’s classroom teacher to identify learning needs, and programming will be designed to address those areas directly.

If this is something your family is interested in, please reply to this message to express your interest by October 6th.

School Closed on Monday, October 13th
