Carson Grove ES News Update - Week of April 22nd

We had a very good week at school. The warmer weather allows classes to go outside more often to play games and sports as well as other learning activities, including nature walks. Our grade 5 PALS leaders have started to teach the younger classes games at recess. It is a really great program!

2025-26 Projected School Organization and Family Class Placement Input - Due April 25th at 9am

We are starting to plan for next year. Here is the projected school organization for the 2025-26 school year at Carson Grove ES:

  • Kindergarten (3 classes)
  • Grade 1 (2 classes)
  • Grade 2 (2 classes)
  • Grade 2/3 (1 class)
  • Grade 3 (2 classes)
  • Grade 4 (2 classes)
  • Grade 5 (2 classes)

There are many factors to consider when deciding where to place a child for a school year. We will be accepting family input on class placements from now until Friday, April 25th at 9am only - no exceptions. Please feel free to send input in confidence by clicking here and using the Parent Input Form.  You can also reply to the school messenger email (sent on Friday) with any input.

Elementary Program Review Update

In the revised proposal, Carson Grove would still transition to Kindergarten to grade 6 with Enhanced English and French Immersion, effective September 2026. The boundary changes from the original proposal are virtually identical.

In order to ensure there is an opportunity for the public to provide feedback on the revised plan, we have extended the consultation period. We are running an online survey to gather feedback on the revised proposal. The survey will be open until April 24th at 11:59 pm. An additional opportunity is being scheduled on April 22nd for delegations specifically on aspects of the revised proposal.

The final recommendations are tentatively scheduled to be presented at the May 6th Committee of the Whole, for approval at a Special Board meeting on May 13th, 2025.
