Carson Grove ES News Update - Week of June 9th

We had a very nice week at Carson Grove with a lot of opportunities for outdoor play. The students love playing soccer and basketball, using skipping ropes, and accessing the play structure. Classes that moved out to portables have settled in with their new learning spaces and new routines. Our lockdown practice and second fire drill went very well. The third fire drill will be completed this coming week.

Eid al-Adha

For all families who are celebrating Eid al-Adha this weekend, we wish you and your family, peace, harmony, happiness, good health and prosperity. Eid al-Adha Mubarak to you and everyone at home!

Over the past week, all students at Carson Grove received a free book to keep. This donation was made possible by an organization called StoryBook Ottawa. We would like to send our sincere thanks to the team at StoryBook Ottawa for the very generous donation and the big impact it had for our students. The organization has committed to make this a yearly tradition. We are very lucky to have this partnership with them.

Upcoming Presentations at Carson Grove

Over the coming weeks, we will be hosting Hydro Ottawa for electrical safety presentations (June 10th) and the City of Ottawa Fire Services for fire safety presentations (June 19th). Please let the office know if you have any questions.

Welcome to Kindergarten Session for New Students in September 2025 on June 12th

Will your child be attending kindergarten for the first time this September? If so, you are invited to bring them to school on Thursday, June 12th from 2:30 to 3:15 pm. You and your child will get to be part of a kindergarten class with outdoor learning time, carpet learning time, and centre learning time led by members of the Carson Grove kindergarten team. It’s a great chance for your child to see what it’s like to be in kindergarten. Please call the school office at (613) 745-0195 (press 0) to let us know that you will be coming.

REGISTER NOW for Kindergarten

Families with a child who will be four years old by December 31, 2025 (children born in 2021) can visit the OCDSB website to register them for Kindergarten. You can also come to Carson Grove between 9:30am and 3pm daily to register in person.
