Carson Grove News June 16

Carson Grove ES News Update - Week of June 16th
Incredibly, there are only 10 school days left before the summer holidays. Staff members are working on end of year plans, including some fun, memorable activities for students, progress reporting, and help with transitions for students who are moving to other schools.
Please contact the office if you are moving this summer. We can help guide you with any changes in schools.
Thank you for sending students to school with summer clothing and hats, and for applying sunscreen before leaving home. We are starting to notice some make-up coming to school with students. Please be sure that make-up stays at home. If someone chooses to wear it, please apply it at home.
We had a week to remember with a Welcome to Kindergarten visit for new students and their families, the Titan grade 5 sports day, and a visit from the Ottawa Senators Foundation with retired NHLer Chris Neil and Spartacat. We would also like to thank Ms. Philippa and Ms. Madeleine for organizing Thursday’s pizza day.
National Indigenous Peoples Day - June 21st
Friday is National Indigenous Peoples Day. This is a day that celebrates and recognizes First Nations, Métis, and Inuit cultures. It is observed on the 21st of June to recognize the summer solstice, the day of maximum daylight, and its importance to Indigenous Peoples. It’s a day for all Canadians to recognize, celebrate, and support the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
Accessing June Report Cards
Report cards will be sent out to families via email later in the day on Thursday, June 26th. To access the report card, enter your child’s Ontario Education Number (OEN) in this format: XXX-XXX-XXX (remember to enter the hyphens - ). Please look at the November progress report or February report card to see your child’s OEN. We will also be sending home a reminder of your child’s OEN in the next week on a blue piece of paper. If you have additional questions, visit the OCDSB report card webpage or contact the school office.
