The Education Foundation of Ottawa (EFO) needs your support on Toonie Tuesday! There are many ways to take part: you can make a one-time or monthly donation online, donate through your School Cash Online Account, or send your child to school with $2 (or more) anytime between now and Friday, Feb. 24th. Visit EFOs website to learn more.
Primary (Grades 1 to 3) Class Reorganization Update
For primary classes where the class lists will change and students are moved to a new homeroom group, staff have carefully considered the learning and social needs of each student involved. New primary classes and timetables will start on Tuesday, February 21st. Please contact the school office if you have any questions.
New: Junior Class Reorganization
We have had a large number of new grade 4 and 5 students join Carson Grove in the past couple of months. While it’s not enough to form a new class, some classes are larger than others at our school. Some students in Ms. V’s grade 4, Ms, Davis’ grade 4/5, and Mr. Thomas’ grade 5 classes will be changing classes on Monday, February 27th in order to balance out class size and needs.
For classes where the class lists will change and students are moved to a new homeroom group, staff will carefully consider the learning and social needs of each student involved. As a family, your voice will also be considered. If you would like to provide input, please click here or call the school office to share your thoughts before Wednesday, February 22nd at 9am.
Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday, February 22nd - Campaign Theme: Lift Each Other Up
This year’s campaign theme is “Lift Each Other Up”. Pink Shirt Day encourages everyone to practise kindness and wear pink to symbolize that you do not tolerate bullying. Please consider wearing pink this coming Wednesday to show support for Pink Shirt Day at Carson Grove.

OCDSB School Climate Survey Coming in March 2023
In March 2023, we will be conducting the OCDSB Parent/Caregiver School Climate Survey. This is a voluntary and anonymous online survey for parents, guardians, and caregivers of students in Kindergarten to Grade 12. The purpose of the survey is to give parents, guardians and caregivers an opportunity to provide feedback about their family’s and their child’s experiences with the school.
To find out more information, please visit the FAQ page or contact [email protected].
Joke or Riddle of the Day!
A “Joke or Riddle of the Day'' is featured daily on the morning announcements. There are two ways to share a possible joke/riddle of the day: Students will be able to pass along jokes/riddles at school in class using a Chromebook; or, they can suggest one with help from home by clicking here and completing a quick Google Form. Based on the overwhelming response levels in the past, not all jokes/riddles are used during the announcements. We do our best to find ones that match the time of the year and also try to make selections from a variety of classes.
