Carson Grove ES News - Week of Nov. 11th
Carson Grove ES News Update - Week of Nov. 11th
We had another great week at Carson Grove. The cold and then very warm weather made knowing what to wear to school a bit of a challenge. This past week was all about wearing lots of layers!
On the November 8th PA Day, school staff learned a lot about language and math instruction plus ways to support student mental health. Everyone is looking forward to being able to apply these skills in our classrooms!
Carson Grove ES Remembrance Day Ceremony on Monday, November 11th at 10:30am
We are excited to welcome families and community members to Carson Grove ES for our Remembrance Day ceremony starting at 10:30am on Monday, November 11th. Grade 1 to 5 students will be participating in the ceremony in the gym. Our kindergarten students will be doing private Remembrance Day activities in the classroom throughout the day on their own.
Accessing Grade 1 to 5 Progress Reports and Kindergarten Initial Observations
Families will receive their child’s Grade 1 to 5 Progress Reports and/or Kindergarten Initial Observations directly in their email. On Thursday, November 20th, you will receive an email from the school that contains the link to download the secure PDF report card. Parents and guardians will need to enter their child’s Ontario Education Number (OEN) to access the report card.
When entering the OEN, please include the hyphens (dashes). The format should be XXX-XXX-XXX. The OEN can be found on any previous provincial report cards. The school will also send home a copy of the OEN next week. Please contact the school office if you need any help.
Save the Date: Family-Educator Interviews on November 28th and 29th
Family-educator interviews will take place in the evening on Thursday, November 28th and the morning of Friday, November 29th. Friday, November 29th will also be a PA Day with no school for students. In about two weeks, teachers will be sending home a letter so families can choose the best day to set up an interview time. Stay tuned!
Safely Dropping Off or Picking Up Your Child by Car
Families can stop safely in the parking zone across from the school parking lot. The parking zone ends with a “No Parking” sign and the end of a thick white line on the street. Please never stop in the area across from the school parking lot entrance. Also, please have your children only exit your vehicle from the passenger side. Using driver side doors is dangerous as your child will be at risk of being hit by traffic. Please look both ways and carefully walk your child across the street to the school. After school, please repeat these steps to be sure to keep your child safe.
