Carson Grove ES News - Week of Nov. 4th
Carson Grove ES News Update - Week of Nov. 4th
Last week was another amazing week at Carson Grove. Students had a great time with Halloween and Black and Orange Spirit Day. The mix of warm and then very cold weather was a big reminder about being sure to wear warm clothes to school. Please be sure to send your child with a hat, gloves or mittens, coat, and boots. If you need any cold weather items, we still have a fairly good supply at school. Please reach out to the school office and we can help your child with cold weather clothes.

We are excited to welcome families and community members to Carson Grove ES for our Remembrance Day ceremony starting at 10:30am on Monday, November 11th. Grade 1 to 5 students will be participating in the ceremony in the gym. Our kindergarten students will be doing private Remembrance Day activities in the classroom throughout the day on their own.
Hindu Heritage Month
November is Hindu Heritage Month, an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the important social, political, economic, and cultural contributions Hindu Canadians have made in Ontario, and to educate future generations about Hindu Canadians.
Holocaust Education Month
Recognized each year in November, Holocaust Education Month provides an important opportunity for students, staff, and families to learn more about the history and legacy of the Holocaust. We have an individual and collective duty to understand the Holocaust and to educate, prevent, challenge and address antisemitism in all its forms.
Treaties Recognition Week
In 2016, Ontario passed legislation declaring the first week of November as Treaties Recognition Week. It’s being recognized from November 3rd to 9th this year. This annual time honours the importance of treaties and helps students and residents of Ontario learn more about treaty rights and relationships. By learning more about our collective treaty rights and obligations, we can create greater understanding and nurture these relationships.
Each year, students learn why treaties matter to all Ontarians. This year, Indigenous Elders and knowledge keepers’ video stories are being shared in schools across the province.
